2025 Grants
These educational institutions demonstrated a clear plan for the use of funds and identified how said funds will benefit Kern County’s youth to persevere.

Actis Junior High School – Ag Culinary Program
Use grant for startup needs and educational supplies: Hydroponics stations, supplies, technology, curriculum development, showcase event and tasting supplies, community outreach experience including transportation.
Arvin High School – Ag Mechanics
Purchase supplies based on students’ project plans: Welding supplies, tractor supplies.
Arvin High School – FFA
Cover livestock, nutrition, medications, training equipment, show supplies. Students track activities in journals and participate in health checks, weigh-ins, weekly clinics. Total cost for 45 projects approx. $35,000. Funds for livestock purchase, feed, show materials, uniforms.
Bakersfield High School – Floral Program
Purchase 144 buckets for floral class product and project distribution.
Centennial High School – Ag Program
Provide students with approved FFA uniforms, officer paraphernalia, chapter banner to start new FFA chapter.
Del Oro High School – FFA
Reduce student costs to attend National Convention.
Edison Middle School – FFA
Complete roof of all pens: fencing, gates, roofing, livestock-friendly flooring. Hire construction professional for safety standards. Setup secure enclosures, shade structures, feeding stations, other equipment.
Kern County Museum
Build covered teaching area in garden: concrete slab, sailcloth cover, movable seating. Support master gardener to manage site, train docents and volunteers. Plant orchard, three olive trees from original farm, and three fruit trees.
North High School – Ag Program
Improve housing for Kern County Fair Market Swine Projects: purchase heavy-duty shade cloth, wood, cables, solar-powered fans for shading, ventilation, animal welfare. Enhance learning environment for livestock management and sustainable farming.
Shafter High School – Floral Program
Purchase 144 buckets for floral class product and project distribution. Different colors to separate flowers by class and event for organization.
Tehachapi High School – FFA
Acquire professional-grade equipment for 165 students for hands-on learning in livestock management, grooming, agricultural skill development.
West High School – FFA
Purchase official dress items for students to check out and borrow for FFA events.
