Scott was one of three children born in Bakersfield to Chuck Kirschenmann and Katie Valentich. He attended Bakersfield High School and California Polytechnic University San Luis Obispo where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. A fifth generation farmer, Scott branched on his own and formed Scott Kirschenmann Farms, Inc. in 2004. A man of the soil, farming was in his blood and he was passionate about his work and his family’s heritage. Scott was a successful businessman and spent much of his time helping others achieve their goals. Off the farm Scott was a terrific golfer and an avid hunter. His generosity was boundless and his heart was larger than the acreage he farmed.
Scott or “Kirschy”, as he was affectionately called, was feisty and sharp-witted, and had a larger than life personality. He loved hard and played hard and was fiercely loyal to the people he cared about. His stamp on life will never be matched and his contagious affection is missed by all who knew him. In honor of his memory, his family is proud to continue his legacy in a positive way in the Kern Community.
